On Saturday, April 23, at the Tribeca Film Festival's huge street fair, Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra musicians join with the American Tap Dance Foundation's Tap City Youth Ensemble to present a quick history of the art of tap! You'll find us at the stage at the intersection of Greenwich Street and Hubert Street.

See how tap developed in the 1800s with shared elements of African, Irish and English dance styles, and learn about the legacy of Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. Listen as musicians and dancers improvise and trade rhythms back and forth—with each other and the audience! Participate in a post-performance workshop at the side of the stage.
