The program also included Felix Mendelssohn's String Symphony No. 5 in Bb, five movements from Robert Schumann's Waldszenen, Op. 82 (with readings from Emma Lazarus's "Scenes in the Wood"), Aaron Copland's Letter from Home (with a reading of a letter from Ralph Waldo Emerson to Emma Lazarus) and Gustav Mahler's Adagietto from Symphony No. 5.
