*from an entry in first-mate Robert Jouet’s journal on the day Henry Hudson’s Halve Maen (Half Moon) sailed into New York Harbor for the first time, “The land is very pleasant and high, and bold to fall withal.”

The debut concert of the Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra was held in Lower Manhattan's premier performance space, the World Financial Center Winter Garden, on January 17, 2009. The concert featured extraordinary violin soloist Elizabeth Pitcairn playing the legendary Red Violin.
